Itinerary

Day 1

Introduction to Sierra Leone and Low Country Connection, conversations with director of a diaspora organization and expert on tidal rice production

Day 2

Virtual tour of the slave castle at Bunce Island, virtual tour of an archeological site of resistance to slavery 

Day 3

Learn about abolition and the Krios via a virtual tour of St. John’s Maroon Church in Freetown, narrated viewing of skits in Krio language

Day 4

Discover Sierra Leonean culture with a cooking demo with Sierra Leonean students, conversation with a high-ranking female political leader
